I like Martin Hajek. His renders are fairly clean and professional. Also, his renders appear later on after the majority of the iPhone rumors have surfaced, where compiles everything together. But I do feel that this is primarily what the new iPhone 8 will resemble in September.

Yeah, I hope for design's sake the front of every phone is black if the bezels are large like that.

It would make the most sense since OLED turns completely black when it’s off and this way every phone gets that benefit rather than just one color.

Good renderings, but this looks to be another average looking phone. The black doesn't look too bad, and it certainly looks better than the 6 series but still doesn't touch the 4/5/SE.

Ehh the design of the 5, 5S, and SE are overrated to me. But yeah the 4 and 4S were beautiful.

I was assuming that if they have that "cut-out area," it will at least be black on every variant (to blend in with the screen / status bar). This looks even worse, lol...

Yep! Not sure why mock-ups have such a problem with that space. See a lot of them with the wallpaper extending into that area too, rather than making it a strip of black. I'd be absolutely shocked if every variant didn't have a black glass "cut out area" that blends into the deep black OLED areas to each side.

With so little on the front thanks to the smaller bezels... why bother even making the front in various colors?

I say... make the front all black (to blend in with the screen)... and leave the colors for the back/sides.

It looks basic doesn't it? No WOW factor; just your practical and functional looking smartphone.

No clock?

excellent point. the lack of the clocking these renders means, to me, that these mockups can not be correct.
the clock will be there for many years to come in whatever apple decides to launch.

Personally, I don't have an issue the way it looks and I welcome any changes at this point. I'll let September be the deciding factor for myself and what else it has to offer.

I continue to be surprised by so many people saying this rumoured design is average – it's a pretty much full screen iPhone with (allegedly) an under screen fingerprint sensor.

This is a huge update IMO.

No clock?

I believe they should go from having one line of status information at the top of the iPhone to having two either side of the cutout.

As an example, Cellular Signal Strength Bars and Wi-Fi on the top line on the left of the cutout, with the Service Provider and Wi-Fi Calling indicator underneath.

On the right Location Tracking Triangle, Bluetooth and Battery Status with a Clock underneath.

If anyone else has the time, it'd be great if they could knock up the render of this.

If the rumours are correct, this will be the most 4/4S like design since that model was phased out.

The front and back are said to be glass, with the band made of steel rather than aluminium for added strength, but with rounded edges.

There's no doubt it's a big update, it's just not a great looking phone. It looks like every other smart phone out there. Apple used to lead the pack in their industrial design, now it mainly follows - this phone is an example of that, assuming this is actually what it will look like.

Ehmm, it looks like the 6&7 series with the oled larger/ bordeless screen installed to me. I doubt this is it. But the screen could most likely look like this

What else are you really expecting? Every smartphone kind of looks the same these days. A huge black slab of screen.
Just expecting something "WOW"; similar to when the 4 came out. I remember visiting the Apple Store multiple times over and over wishing I could own one, because it was so beautiful. Any design after the 4, I'd go to Apple once and tell myself, "I'll stick to what I have now" and I never had the feeling of wanting it so bad.

This is what I was expecting "to feel" about the iPhone 8 a.k.a iPhone 7S (?).

Put the battery % number inside the battery icon and then there will be room for a clock.

I love these renders. I have been hoping they'd go back to simple black and white color options on the 8.

I really like the renderings, I love the idea of a full screen with OLED with upgraded specs this might be the 1st iPhone I preorder at 3am but probably still have to wait a month or so to get it lol. Like others have stated they want a big wow factor but when it comes to electronics phones, tv's, or anything else it's almost been done for now with new devices coming out every year it's hard to wow us anymore.
