So, I noticed something interesting when I use a PD USB-C charger on my XR!

The standard animation “grows” the battery icon briefly & adds the lightning bolt to it of course, to call attention to & indicate that it's charging.

HOWEVER... when you plug into a high-speed charger; it does a 2nd “pulse” of the icon, after about 3 seconds (I assume, once it realizes the power status).

I’m including screenshots of both.
Please let me know if you all are seeing the same! =)

Sure it's not an aftermarket cable not making good connection?

My initial thought!
Genuine Apple USB-C cable though (I don’t think there’s any others yet... USB-C to lightning). Brand new. Also, if you see in the video- it stays connected.... just “pulses” a 2nd time. The idea that it’s recognizing quick charge is the only thing I can come up with.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone else with the new phones, beta 5, & a PD charger. I’m so curious if I’m right, lol.
[doublepost=1540870656][/doublepost]Hmmm... ok, so actually- after reading @Hater’s comment; I decided to check something- I bought 2 of the USB-C cables because I got a 27w PD car charger as well (high quality/USB-IF certified). Switching cables & it still does it in the house... but NOT in the car w/ either cable.
I guess I was wrong. =/
The home charger is a highly rated Anker 30w PD charger- I don’t think it’s faulty or anything, but I think what I’m seeing is 1st it recognizing it’s being charged, then the chip in the Anker reads what the max power is & ramps up to that amount- which triggers the 2nd “pulse”.
Lol, I’m modifying my theory.
