I'm going to get my wife a new iPhone for Christmas as she really wants an Apple Watch (so will get her a 42mm Series 10 cellular spec etc) but have got myself in bit of a tizz trying to decide between an iPhone 15 and 16...

There's no need for a Pro for her, also 128GB is more than enough as she stores nothing on her phone

In the UK there's £100 between them, so for me the 16 seems to make more sense as it's the latest version...

Thoughts?

When u wanna save money buy from 3rd party and not apple. 15 u will get for about £600 which is 200 less than a 16.

I think you should get her a 16 Pro. You have a 16 Pro Max (and a bunch of other stuff listed in your signature that you had no problem buying for yourself) so why skimp on your wife? Plus the 16 Pro has a better processor so it will last longer.

Because she's absolutely no need for a phone with power like that; her Pixel 7 works spot on for her and her needs (basic photos, FB, the web, Google Maps etc)

She gets more from using her Pixel Watch etc

So an AW10 42mm and an iPhone 16 is spot on for her needs and more really - plus the size is perfect for her small 'ladies night out' handbags etc!

I'd get the 16 so that you get the Apple Intelligence features. She may not use those, but at least she will have the device that supports it in case she does choose to use some of the features.

That's what I would do too but that's me. Most of us on here have no need with the Pro models but that doesn't stop us. My Mrs would be happy with a midrange phone but she gets top of the line every couple of years.

So she's a convert? :)

I'd go 16 as well. I couldn't care less about (and actually don't like) the camera control button. But everything else about it makes it worth a little extra, especially if she keeps her phones for a long time.
