New iphone, new apple id

In short, my last iPhone broke and I'm about to get a new one but I don't want to activate it with my current Apple ID but instead make a new one. However, I still want to transfer all the photos and stuff that was backed up under my current ID that I want to leave behind, is that possible?

Out of curiosity, why would you want a new Apple ID?
Anyways, just restore from the old account and switch over after the restore is complete

It's not possible. You can change your current Apple ID if it's a matter of not liking the email address linked to that Apple ID, but you can't transfer backups or photos directly from one Apple ID to another.

It's a bit of work, but what about exporting photos, calendar, etc. to a set of files and saving them to external storage. Then importing those files from external storage into the new Apple ID once the phone is set up under the new Apple ID. It's a bit of effort, and it would only need to be done once, but it seems that it would yield the desired result.

How do I change it? I've seen people do it but that option is not available for me at appleid.apple.com, for some reason

It's an involved process, and you'll need to be sure all of your devices are signed out of the Apple ID for it to work. I have successfully done this, so I know it does work.

Thank you. This could prove to be tricky however as I can't sign out out of my iPhone since the screen is broken and I can't access it. Or is signing out of iTunes enough? idk

I believe that may cause a problem, but you can always remove it from your account from the iCloud and Apple ID settings pages on a different device.
