Also a new forum poster though I've lurked on and off since I bought my first MacBook a little over a year ago. So, I took the plunge and upgraded to iPhone 3GS 32GB on Orange yesterday, thereby making myself a fully paid up member of the Jobsian cult (PC owning friends argue this is already the case because I have a Me account and I've been to an Apple store).

I have the phone, far more minutes, text and data than I would ever need (the £35 plan looks like an American plan) and all is well so far.......

But what about applications? I logged onto AppStore using my iTunes account last night, looking for Apps but there are quite a lot of them. My immediate needs are:

- Something for Twitter
- Something for Facebook
- Something for Flickr

Which apps are generally considered best for these services? I see Tweetdeck is available (I already use in on PC and Mac)...

reply in RED!!

basically you can download any apps to suits your needs...best place to look for those apps (in my opinion!) is via the iphone app store and under catergories select social networking to find facebook or do a search! best to do this with wifi :D

have fun!

is there an app for VNC, I love Apple's screen share app and I want something like that so i can control and access my imac from work when connected to wifi.

What about the ability to use your iphone screen as your mouse (like a touch pad on a laptop)

a front row remote app?

Thanks guys, I'm tempted to take the plunge from my N97 due to constant problems vodafone has offered me an iPhone in 3 weeks time. Iphone 3Gs £35 a month - transfer from my n97 - + £50.. Convince me please.

1st two were answered by the poster above me,

front row remote app - RowMote.

Thanks all

Thanks all and apology to moderators for posting in the wrong place. I now have Tweetie, Facebook, Flickr (and for good measure, Skype and a cool app that makes Light Saber noises), all installed. I'm really getting to like the AppStore. And yes, I did it all over WiFi - unlike my business phone (a Nokia E71), the iPhone simply (and automatically now configured) works with my home network.
