Hi,

I just unboxed a new Iphone XS. However the screen looks damaged, there is a small gray dot on the lower half of the screen. The dot is visable no matter if the phone is off or on.

I would have expected the screen to the uniformly black.

Is this a dead pixel?

That is unusual. Is the plastic covering off? It isn’t a dead pixel since the screen is off but it could be something in between the layers of the screen.

It appears you haven't taken off the plastic cover it came with. Is this issue you speak of still there after you remove it?
