My 1 1/2 year old iPhone 3G had water damage about a month ago and I am eligible for an upgrade in about 2 weeks. I just started experiencing problems with it, but it isn't that bad and if it doesn't get worse I could deal with it until summer. My next phone will be an iPhone, but is there going to be a new one this summer? I don't see a whole lot they can do with the next version, so if there is a new one coming what will it probably have and will it be worth waiting for or should I get a 3GS?

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I'm eligible for an upgrade April 10th. My volume control switch fell off and I have dust under the screen. I want the 3GS soo bad (I have the 3G btw), but with the new iphone coming out this summer (most likely in June/July) I'm gonna hold off for it. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Steve Jobs himself said it will be an A+ upgrade. :) I can't wait for it! I say deal with your problems (which you say aren't too bad) and hold off for the new iphone coming this summer. It'll be worth it. ;)

If you can wait until whenever Apple will release the next iPhone, wait. Steve Jobs said it will be an A+ upgrade, so it'll be worth the wait

I agree with everyone else. My iphone has a huge crack (yea, i dropped it and it wasnt protected), freezes and sooo many lil scratches. It still works pretty well. And we all know that new one will be here before we know it! Just hold on a little longer.
