Hi.
So my trusty iPod Photo has gone and I need to buy a new one, still have to choose between the iPod classic and the iPod touch.
Are the new models, classic and touch, still delivered with the European volume cap ? On my old model, which to me was useless with the volume cap, I removed it with the goPod app. Is it still possible ? Can I remove the cap on the new models ? Maybe by jailbreaking the touch ? I wonder about true removal of the cap, not by applying some digital gain to the music.
Thanks.

Suppose it depends where you live.

If in Europe - yeah for sure.

I'd buy an American iPod if I were you to avoid it completely.

Obviously I live in Europe, otherwise I would not have posted this :)
I just want to know if I can get rid of the volume cap, and if yes, how and on which iPod model.

Btw, if someone knows an American store that sells the iPod online and ships worldwide that would be fine too.

Beware of upping and bumbinp threads - it leads to warnings :p

Yep, I give up on this thread. I thought it was a simple question, but apparently nobody cares about this issue or all have non volume capped iPods.

I learned long ago never to assume anything.

You could be in Japan for all I know

Your best bet to buy an American iPod is on ebay. Find a seller that knows how to ship to Europe properly ahead of bidding. I wouldn't bother with uncapping the limit on a euro model.

Nobody cares because most members on here are from USA.

I didn't even know European iPods had volume limits till about a month ago.

If you have a friend(s) in the U.S, ask them to buy one for you and ship it to you.
