With all the hype on the mactouch/mini portable and possible hardware upgrades, anyone else see maybe a 250GB iPod classic being launched? I'd love a 1TB ipod classic but that's reaching...

No, no. The iPods should get updated in preparation for the holiday season, i.e. around September.

No chance in hell of a 1TB iPod (please tell me you were joking). In fact, just no for iPod updates in general. They were all just updated September 5th, far too soon on Apple's product update scheme. Plus, no real incentive to do it right now, it's not like there are holidays around the corner like the Sept. 5th upgrade had. Apple will let these models slide at least for a good few more months at least, but i wouldn't be surprised if they waited a whole year again.

Well between the 5G and 6G it was more than a year, there was a minor refresh about a year before the 6G

I'd sure love to see them bump the capacity on them. I'm about ready to buy a couple iPod Touches, but not until I can get 32GB.

no, i bet there wont be any new ipods.

i wouldn't think so. i think it would be a massively dumb PR move considering there were probably millions of ipods given for Christmas. If they announced a brand new one just after, when people are past the return period, there might be riots :)

at least, if i had been given a new one for Christmas and then brand new units were released this soon...i'd be really ticked.
