New ipp instead of Apple TV?

Picked up a new iPad Pro and wondering if I can get it to display 4K videos on a 4k tv via a usbc to hdmi converter or something? Reason I ask is cause I have several movies I own in iTunes but don’t really think it’s worth buying a $150 Apple TV just to watch a few titles.

I believe the iPad Pro will only display the HD version of an iTunes movie and not stream the 4K version. Not positive on that as I haven’t messed with the external monitor function of the new IPP.
