Hi there,

I'm living in Japan but my itunes account is a canadian one. I've been given an japanese itunes gift card and would like to use it to buy some apps. by the sounds of it (another related post i read on here), it's possible to make a new japanese account. my question is, if I do that, will there be a conflict between the two accounts when it comes to putting apps from those two accounts onto one iphone? a second question that I should have asked first: can I use the itunes card for apps or does it have to be for music?

Thanks for your help in advance.

- Frank

I have multiple iTunes accounts and I've downloaded programs and music from all three and have them all running on the same iPod Touch with no problem. Mind you, all the stuff I've downloaded was free and I've never paid for any iTunes downloads, but I don't see that there will be any problem.

Hi Frank,

I have a Japanese account from when I was in Japan and a UK one too. I have only topped it up using gift cards, and they work for everything, music, apps, in app purchases, etc.

It can slightly confuse your iOS device, as something makes it occasionally and mysteriously switch accounts. I think it's app updates, but I'm not sure.I have different email addresses for each of my accounts. I once found myself stuck in the Japanese store. I wasn't really stuck, I just didn't know that to change your account/store on your iPhone, you just need to go to Settings, then choose Store > Sign Out. Then, click Sign In. Your iPhone will automatically switch to the store the account is for.

Whilst you are there, check out Taiko No Tatsujin (Taiko Drum Master) - it's a great rhythm game and you can get a free single track version. You don't get the actual taiko drum like in the arcades, but it's still fun :)
