I just discovered something a little disturbing about the new iTunes. My grandson has a login account on my iMac with his own iTunes library and AppleId for purchases. Going into the new Purchased tab there were some things that he bought but were not there. I think they were purchased on an older machine and just never got put in the current library. I clicked the cloud and got a message stating basically if I tried to redownload his stuff to this iMac it would be 90 days before I could use the feature under my iTunes and AppleID. I would have thought that any account on the computer could use this feature without such repercussions. I am glad that only he and I have iTunes on this machine..I pity the family with 2 adults and 2 kids on the same machine..of course i realize this is a beta so hopefully maybe they will change that.

Yeah that's the thing he does have his own login account on the imac and his own appleid that he buys music and rents movies with. That is what confused me about the whole deal. I thought the login accounts were kinda like separate computers in a way.

Which version of iTunes are you using?

I have the 10.5 beta and can download content from three separate Apple ID's on the same Mac with a single user account.

I am running 10.3.1 beta on mine. It was strange though but I guess if I have already downloaded my missing purchases then doing his and waiting 90 days wont be to big of an issue..it just surprised me that it would make a difference especially since he has his own login account on this imac. But if it can be done in the 10.5 beta then maybe when the whole shooting match is available this fall it will work out ok
