My macbook is having a new logic board fitted after a problem with the fan (It never came on, causing the processor to overheat and cutout), anyway, was a revision 1 core duo board, will i just get a revision 2 board or is there any chance i'll get a free core 2 duo upgrade?
Repair is being done under warranty at the manchester apple store.
Do they still make core duo boards? if not do apple have a warehouse full of them? i'm just thinking, if they dont produce them anymore what will i get fitted.

you will get a CD board no dought. it could be a rev 1 board as well i can remember if there was any changes in the other revisions that would stop them from going in to a rev 1 case.

Just checked my invoice (Should of done this first i think), it just says
"Logic Board 2GHz" no mention of what type.

When I had my 20Gb hard disk replaced in my iBook, they put in just another 20gig.

Based on my experience, you would probably get just another Core Duo.

I had this done a couple of weeks ago on a black macbook core duo 2ghz.

They replaced with the same logic board.
