I just purchased the new M4 version of the MacBook Pro. I currently have an early 2015 MacBook Pro, and when I close the lid, the laptop is connected to two monitors via two Thunderbolt 2 cables—one going to each of them. With the new update, Thunderbolt 4 ports, can someone describe what I need to do to close my lid and use two monitors with HDMI ports? I appreciate any help you can provide.

Are the monitors just HDMI only or do they also offer DisplayPort? A Thunderbolt 4 dock would also be a viable option and provide single-cable connectivity, with the added bonus of powering your laptop. Dual DisplayPort docks are easier to find than dual HDMI docks but the latter do exist.

Each monitor has only an HDMI input.
