A LOOONNGTime Windows user, I just ordered and received my spankin' new IMac 2.4 20".
It truly is a beautiful piece of equipment. Didn't notice any problems with my screen...in fact, I was pleased at how nice it was (after reading about all of the potential problems). I am having a bit of a learning curve with OSX and plan to upgrade to Leopard, but I'm having fun with Tiger at present.
My dilemna...In the first 2 days, I've experienced freeze-ups, and painfully slow performance. Although I only have 1 Gig of RAM (will be upgrading to 3 Gig soon), I don't think my system is working properly. Safari CRAWLS, and the numerous System download updates won't install - each one starts and indicates hours of download time (for a stupid 36MB update, eg.) and eventually hangs.
What can I do? Any ideas/suggestions/help?
I'm so frustrated. I'm actually writing this on my POS Windows machine but I want to get cranking on my beautiful IMac. Help please???
