So my new 24" iMac has arrived. 750GB HDD, 1GB RAM (Ordered 4GB from OWC).
I was going to reinstall the OS to delete language files but read about monolingual as well. which is better do you think?
Also what are some must have apps. Super excited, thanks in advance!

i just reinstall to get rid of extra languages, foreign fonts, and printer drivers. I don't know if monolingual does as good a job, but the reinstall has never failed me.

The number one app I would install on a new mac is quicksilver, but that's just me. :)

I used monolingual to remove extra languages, and never had a problem using it. I also second quicksilver, IDK how I used a computer without it.

I always install OnyX on my machines. It's a great tool to use when something isn't running right or you want to speed up your Mac. However, be careful when using it. It's very powerful and can do some major damage to a system if not executed properly.
