I got a new MBP yesterday and I messed up when I was setting up my account. I usually have it as David, and I thought I did that, but it's showing david (in lowercase).

Since nothing much is on there yet, what's the best way to correct this? I was thinking I can live with it but, IDK, years later I don't want to be annoyed with it.

Just a reinstall of macOS? Sorry, the last version I was on was High Sierra and I'm not sure if there are other ways for this.

Edit...nevermind. I found the Erase all content and settings. Delete this if you need to.

No need to do all that.

1. open System Preferences
2. click on Users & Groups
3. click the lock icon in the bottom left to authorize changes
4. right click on your username in the left area
5. click Advanced Options
6. change your "full name" there
7. click OK to save the changes
8. restart your MBP

Well then. It doesn't let me make my Account name capitalized. By creating a new account. I had already erased everything before that reply.
