I recently (today) bought a Mac mini to replace my old one. I had it equipped with a 128G SSD and 8G RAM. It is used exclusively for music playback in a very high end stereo system. I stream the music files in via firewire and out USB (for the moment).

I'm not a power user by an means. But my proble seems so simple... On my old mini I used an DVI to VGA adapter to connect my VGA monitor. The majority of control of my music is done with an iPad using Remote.

I can't get anything on the monitor. There seem to be different types of connects, even though they are DVI I tried the included HDMI to DVI adapter, then tried to reuse my old DVI to VGA. No luck. Actually they didn't match up in connections so I used an Audioquest HDMI to DVI adapter that at least plugged in fully. Then the DVI to VGA adapter. Nothing. Last I tried the Audioquest HDMI to DVI adapter, plugged into an AQ DVI to DVI cable into the DVI input on my Loewe television. Nothing. I know I'm not the brightest crayon in the box where this stuff is concerned (I'm very good at audio) but this seems like it should be simple. Oh, I'm also a newbie on the site; nice to find you guys.
