Hi,

I just got a new Mac Mini to use as my HTPC.:D

I just have a quick question before I start setting everything up.

I will be using a combination of Plex and Front Row for most of my media. Does it matter which OS I should use on the Mini? Either Snow Leopard or Leopard? I thought I read somewhere that Snow Leopard could be a little troublesome for some media playback(or maybe I imagined it).

Sorry if this is kind of a dumb question, but I want to make sure I set up everything correctly the first time.

Thanks.

Your good to go with either.

Snow Leopard did have a problem with PLEX and the remote. This has now been fixed using CandleAir which downloads when you install PLEX on 10.6.

Mine runs great on Snow Leopard

I run Plex on my Pro (10.6.2) but unfortunately it crashes at least twice per movie which is absolutely annoying.

Till now, I've got now idea what causes this, as my video files play just fine with every other app.

I'm running SL 10.6.2 and while Plex works great, I have an issue that has been documented by others on the forum (check out this thread) where I get no video when playing movies through Front Row, only audio. I thought I had it working after the last update but tried last week and no go. I really haven't worried about it as I only have 2 films that cannot be played through Plex (lovely iTunes DRM) and they play fine when launched from iTunes.

Is all subtitles working on Snow Leopard's FrontRow?
I have lots of divx/xvid movies with sub's and they work in Leopard fine.
But going to get new harddrive to mini and going to install Snow Leopard, but can I then watch movies through FrontRow?
