I was having the same problem. The one linked to on Newegg is this one on Crucial's site. However, Crucial updated their memory recommendation thing, and they recommend this one instead. They appear to have the exact same specs, but different part numbers (and same price). WTF?

Also, the one posted by Drewsky doesn't have the correct number of pins, so definitely don't buy that one.

I just ordered two Mac Minis, but I'll probably wait and see on the memory upgrade.

DDR3 is correct for the NEW Mac Mini

Hi Everyone!

I am contemplating buying a New Mac Mini! yay... tonight!

But I want to make sure the memory I found is compatible, this way I save myself heartache!

Please let me know!:)

Yes, that looks like you got the right part.

That seems like a great deal for 4 GB of DDR3, which had been more expensive not too long ago. I wonder how noticeable the performance of the DDR3 RAM will be vs DDR2 found in the old Mac Mini's?

Congrats on your new Mini!

No, The OP was correct. The one you linked is DDR2. The new mini's are DDR3. The link in the first post is the correct ram.

Thank you Durandal, and from what everyone is saying Increasing the original from 1 gb to 4gb should up the video's ram usage to 256mb as well right?

Or is that not proven yet?

Thanks Mike I haven't ordered it yet... lol... want to make to verify that if I upgrade the ram, it will upgrade the video to 256 mb also

Does anyone also know... If I buy the ram and take it a mac verified technician, and have them install it will the apple care still be in effect?

Edit: Just saw the above post. That is great news!

related question:

If I bought the 24" with 2gb ddr2 ram and want to give it more ram would I buy another 2gb chip or the 4gb 2pac and replace the whole thing ?
