Hey all,

Right, I'm a fairly mac hardy guy, but I just need to see if anyone else has got this working.

The new Mac Mini has a Mini DVI, and a Mini Display Port. What I want to do is drive 2 x VGA monitors from this.

Apple do a Mini DVI to VGA adapter, and a Mini Display Port to VGA adapter.

My question is simply, Can I use both these adapters at once to drive 2 x VGA displays.

I don't personally see any issues with this, but the apple store is out of date and doesn't have any adapters that claim to work with the mini.

I'm sure there must be someone out there who has tried this setup before.

Thanks in advance!

PhilC.

Should work.

Other places sell the Apple adapters (esp the miniDVi to VGA).

Monoprice sells their own knockoffs - cheaper, but haven't seen reports of quality.

Monoprice's cables and adapters are all super solid, buy from them over apple, huge difference in price typically. Don't fall prey to the "Monster Cable scam"!

:)

The apple website page relating to the Mini DVI to VGA adapter states: "The Apple Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter is designed for use with the iMac (Intel Core Duo), MacBook, and 12-inch PowerBook G4."

Will this still work with the Mini as indicated in the Mini manual?

Secondly - is there any difference in quality between using an adapter attached to the Mini DVI or Mini DisplayPort?

just grab the adapters from monoprice, you could get them both for less than one apple adapter and you wouldn't be out much if one didn't work.

Thanks for the reply, lostime. But are either 'supposed' to offer a better quality?

No. Either will produce an acceptable VGA signal.

And for what its worth, I've got a Monoprice mini-DP to HDMI video adapter which works perfectly and cost only $9.75!
