New mac mini wont connect to my hdtv

I have an hdmi cable that plugs into the mac but on the other end of the cable is dvi which plugs into the tv. Is that a problem because there is no signal. And its on the right video out put from the tv.

It shouldn't be a problem at all. You might want to double check your connections and which input on the TV your using. Are you using the Apple HDMI - DVI connector or a someone else's?

I'm sure that's what he meant as TV's generally don't have video outputs.
