Hello,

I was looking at the new mac pro and i am very impressed,

I wanna buy the Base Model but i do have a few questions please.

Quad-Core and Dual GPU

3.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 processor
12GB 1866MHz DDR3 ECC memory
Dual AMD FirePro D300 with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM each
256GB PCIe-based flash storage
$2,999.00

1. I have a 4k Sony 65" UHD Display will it run smoothly on HDMI or Thunderbolt 2?

2. My work is on Final cut pro x and motion, im not doing 4k rendering only 1080p rendering so far will it be more than enough?

3. Watching 4K downloaded movies, how smooth will it be?

I think thats about it, final cut pro x youtube videos and watching 4k and 1080p bluray movies and browsing

what do you guys think?

It's hard to tell without having the computer out there, but if it truly has 4 Teraflops of graphics computation, it should handle all that video and be smooth.

I'd be surprised if there is any stuttering or choking with 4K on a single monitor. We'll see, though.

i hope it does work well without any lag, do you think the screen size 65" effect the 4k resolution on the mac pro

Screen size has nothing to do with resolution or the amount of pixels. What are you actually asking here?

oh ok :) you answered my question hehe

I just wish it runs smoothly all around with 4k res, i had bad experience with my previous Alienware desktop on my 65" 4k display, it lagged so bad, windows sucks i guess

What graphics cards did you have in the Alienware?

4K need more VRAM, I think 2999 model's 4GB is enough.
By the way, I have not found the converter from DP to HDMI 1.4 which can support 4K output, Maybe I know too little?

Without a converter i checked the apple website and it says hdmi on the pro support 4k output
