New Mac Pro - Mouse & Keyboard freezing

I've got my brand new Mac Pro since 27th February.

I love it, but, for approx. 6 times now, my brand new computer is freezing for no reason. I'm on the web, with sublime, itunes, emails and FTP tool (nothing very powerful has you can see) and suddenly, the computer "freeze". I can move my mouse, but i can't click on anything and my keyboard doesn't work either (my mouse is on USB3 and my Keyboard is connected with Bluetooth)

I already contacted Apple, they made me verify/repair the disk, unplug the mac pro an do a combinaison of keyboard keys, but the problem came back. Honestly, i'm disappointed. Its brand new !

So now, i need to format it back and try it "brand new" for a while before install back. If the problem come back, i'll have to send my Mac Pro to an Apple Store for a repair.

Am I the only one stuggling with this ?

No, same thing happened to me!
AppleCare said to reset SMC/PRAM.... didn't work.
AppleCare said to reinstall OS X Mavericks... this helped a bit, in that the system would no longer freeze while I was actually working on it. But my display would still enter some sort of dark grey slumber state after some idle time from which it couldn't be woken, with mouse/keyboard unresponsive.
Tried another Thunderbolt cable to my Thunderbolt Display... didn't solve the problem.
And neither did reinserting the Thunderbolt cable.
The recent firmware update didn't solve it either.

What finally helped was to disable my Thunderbolt Display from going to sleep after some idle time -- I just pushed the slider in System Preferences/Energy Saver all the way to the right. I'm putting the nMP (and the attached display) to sleep manually whenever I'm away from it for a few hours or more; there's no problem doing it that way.

Not what I would call a real solution, but at any rate it stopped the problem for me.

I had also problems with downloading large files (like xcode or adobe web premium), so i did the same thing you did (turn off sleep mode on display), thinking maybe it will have an impact on the download. It didn't help for my download and the freeze problem is still there.

And its really random... Guess I'll have no choice but to format my computer to continue the "process" with Apple Care. Can't believe I have to do that !

At least I feel less alone now hahaha.

AppleCare motivated reinstalling OS X Mavericks by saying that it could be a corrupted file...

By chance they were the one who installed it the first time Somethings going wrong in Texas haha!

We'll hope there will be no corrupted files this time... I think I'll plug the Mac on Ethernet cable instead of Wifi, just to be sure to not download 5 times Mavericks....

Actually, reinstalling Mavericks was pretty easy with a Time Machine backup on an external HD at hand: (1) reboot from Recovery; (2) use Disk Utility to erase the Macintosh HD (the internal SSD); (3) install OS X; (4) use Migration Assistant to copy everything from Time Machine, letting my old user self replace the new one.

I had a problem with USB keyboards but then Apple released a firmware update for the Mac Pro addressing "low speed USB issues" and that solved it. Maybe a month ago.

Finally, once I made a fresh install of Maverick, My MacPro doesn't freeze anymore! Alleluia !!

BUT

When i'm looking to a video on the web or when i'm working on Photoshop sometimes graphic cards seems to freak out ! There's like a glitch. Part of the video or the element i'm working on is blinking and is taking the whole screen. I have to quit and switch application to get my screen back.

Honestly, i'm starting to be really disappointed..... Is there anyone who experience this ??
