I suspect minimum starting price will be 2500 USD for the base model and it goes up from there, looking at the components being selected for the new model and the extra cost for the fancy case and engineering required to squeeze all this into a space/thermally constrained case.

There are some excellent posts on this question already, but it will come down to how low apple is willing to spec the lowest CPU/GPUS options. These are the largest non fixed costs.

I suspect minimum starting price will be 2500 USD for the base model ...

After decades of this, I learned to take your minimum expectations and add another so-much cash. Apple will almost never meet a minimum expectation for price. The only time I saw it happen was when the iPad came out.

$2999 for the crap-o-base model.
If lucky, we'll see a a high-end model with some amazing processors and expanded architecture beyond the MacPro Mini we've seen. That one will be $4999+ and would be darling for video pros.

If the base Pro comes out at something around $1999 and blows minds with being below expectations, I'd actually buy.

FYI--while this first redesign might be tantalizing, remember that almost all 1,1s tend to age faster and be under-developed. The 1,2s almost always are the ones to dive into.
