Hi,
I just got my 8 core mac pro a month ago and I was wondering, I see people talking about installing GTX480's in there systems, and I was wondering if I could install a GTX580.

I will only be using it in windows for some gaming when I have some free time. What are the pro and cons? I've heard that all you have to do is switch the cable from the stock 5770 to the GTX580, when booting into widows, and vice versa.

I'll also be using a 6 to 6+2 pin adapter to power the GTX580. To my understanding the mac pro has a 1000 watts psu which is more than enough to run the GTX580. Would this be a viable option?

Thank you in advanced for your answers.

It should be possible but you need to switch the cables every time unless you get a 5.25" PSU for the SuperDrive slot
