Hey guys. Would appreciate some help on this matter.

My sister is has a Powerbook G4, and I have a macbook. As a new user to a mac, i'm a little unsure of what is going on with her computer.

Basically her computer can not connect to the internet. When doing a network diagnostic "assist me". All are green except for Internet and Service which show "failed". It also says that the network Diagnostic can not fix the current networking problems.

I have connected the ethernet cable to her computer directly, and it shows the same error. I have also tried inputting the TCP/IP/DNS numbers manually but to no avail.

The wireless network is not a problem, nor is the ISP because the other computers in the house are all working fine.

Her computer has been a-ok since she got in in March.

Thanks!

hmm maybe try restarting the modem or computer, or taking the ethernet cable out and putting it back in

oops didn't realize that the ISP wasn't recognizing the new computer's MAC address. had to spoof it and it's all good!
Thanks!
