New Mac User - Power Mac Memory Upgrades?

I just jumped in to the Mac world for the first time with the purchase of a Dual 2.0Ghz Power Mac (older version).

Can someone please advise as to whether I need special kind of Ram or whether standard issue stuff would work (PC 3200, 2 separate chips, CL 2.5, etc.)

For example, Newegg has a set of Crucial sticks for $82 and Fry's has a set of Mushkin for $85 (after rebate) that seem to meet these criteria. Before I ordered I just wanted to make sure that these would work.

I would go to Crucial or Other World Computing (OWC) and use their memory selectors to help get the correct RAM for your particular computer. From there, you can go else where to find the same stuff for cheaper, just buy right from them.

You can't tell Mac compatibility from the PC3200 specification, unfortunately; there is much more to it than that.
PC Generic RAM might or might not work. IMO the hassle and expense of shipping back RAM that doesn't work, outweighs the few dollars you'd save going with the cheapest PC RAM.

bought 3rd party RAM and it gave my mac fits, sent it back and got Grade A ram and it runs perfectly now.... dont buy cheap RAM, buy from APPLE or Crucial.

The few bucks you save wont be worth the hassles if it doesnt work, and you may not know immediately. I had my RAM in about a week before it started to act up. I replaced it with new memory and all the problems went away instantly.

On the Crucial sight I noticed some of there cheaper stuff had a CL of 3. Does that matter for my purposes? I'd heard somewhere that a CL of 2.5 is much better.

I'd be focused mostly on home movies/video editing.
