Picked up my first Mac last night. Went with the 2.5GHZ/4Gig Mini. Lots to learn. I bough the mac for three reasons:

-Editing Video (primary reason)
-Editing/Organizing photo's
-Becoming familiar with mac's

Ultimately, I want to use the Mac to edit and video files and organize my photo's, but I still want everything on my main PC. I figured out how to share files between my Win7 computer and Mini without too much trouble, but I have a question:

My main Win7 PC has 3 Hard Drives with around 2TB of storage. The drives, while not SSD, are faster than what's in the mini. How would you go about editing the video? Can I import the video from across the network into iMovie and keep all the files on the Win7 PC or will I need to move the files from Win7 to Mac, edit, then move it all back? Same goes for editing and organizing photo's.

I'm comfortable upgrading the HDD and Ram myself, but I would like to avoid upgrading the HDD unless necessary.
