I had a quick look of the new MacBook Air at the apple store today, the USB ports looked a little different. Are those the new ball bearing USB ports that apple has designed.

I just had a quick look at the new air , then I looked at the 15" pro on the other table.

The new air looks like it has 4 little metal balls in the USB port to keep the wire in place. It just looked different.

I'm sure someone with the new air could let me know

I see what you mean, they are just there to hold the usb devices in. see below for the usual way...

Wow nice catch - the ball bearings look a lot better built than those cheap metal tabs.
