Hi, i am a noob here, and im running a samsung 920bw external monitor, and im wondering, is there a way i can shut the macbook and keep the thing on and not have it sleep?

You'll also need an external keyboard and mouse, but the answer is yes. Just connect all the stuff, close your MacBook to put it to sleep, then hit the space bar on the external keyboard to wake it up again in lid-closed mode. Note that your MacBook must be plugged into an outlet in order for this to work.

Or use the remote.

Is it just me, but when I just plug in an external display/usb device and use the remote (or bluetooth might mouse) to switch my Macbook on it wakes and displays stuff on the screen which I can control and then goes to sleep again. :confused:
