My new MacBook Pro M2 Max arrived yesterday via courier and i noticed the outer packaging it was shipped in had a dent on the corner and along one edge. Checked the MacBook box inside and this too is dented in the same place. The MacBook itself seems ok and powered up fine.

I'm probably massively overthinking this but i'm imagining it would take quite an impact for the dent to pass through the outer packaging and through to the inner box, very possibly as a result of being dropped from a height or pushed up against something with force during transit?

Is internal damage to the MacBook likely based on the photos, or am i being paranoid?

Like i say the MacBook itself isn't marked and powered up fine. I just don't want to start getting issues with it later down the line due to some knock on effect from a potential drop it suffered in transit.

I don't know how robust these things are when it comes to them being dropped, no matter how well they're packaged.

I see dents like that on packaging all the time -- it looks to me like the packaging did it's job and protected the contents.

Like crumple zones in a car, the packaging is meant to crush to protect the contents. If the packaging didn't compress to the point that the aluminum MacBook hit a hard stop, it should be ok.
