If anyone has already ran to the stores to see the new MBP, I'm wondering if it has the same bad screen viewing angle issue or if they improved it to at least be comparable to the better angle on the Macbook?

They're not on display yet. Probably won't be until tomorrow.

In my experience, the MacBook viewing angle is absolutely terrible.

I picked up a glossy new one and I'd say the vertical viewing angle is almost on par with the last gen glossies. A little less, but only when viewing it at ridiculous angles. Horizontally it looks great all around.

What I'm saying is the actual physical angle of the lid/screen. The Macbook's lid opens far wider than the Macbook Pro. It's been an issue for many Pro users who use them at podiums (especially angled ones) or those like me that put their feet on a coctail table and have the laptop on your legs or in bed, etc.
The Macbook opened about ?? 2" more and I'm hopeing this has been fixed. Many open almost flat.

No, it's the same angle as before. Luckily you don't need the thing all the way open like on the MacBook to see the darn screen.
