I haven't used a Mac since 2006-2010ish.
I now am reconsidering getting one because I want to record video in during procedures (no patient data, just video, consented for for education / research)

Olympus CV-190
Endoscopy video processor for medical endoscopy of the gi tract.

There are digital SD out on the back (HD and SD).
And there is Digital Out port with two corners cut off which appears to be a FireWire400 port.

On older MBP there was a FireWire Port.

The new Mac Book Pros only have Thunderbolt 3 / usb c.
I see adaptors... Thunderbolt 3 --> Thunderbolt 2 adaptor that would maybe work if then plug a Thunderbolt 2 adaptor to FireWire?

And then plug in the firewire cable?

Alternatives include getting a black magic recorders. still would probably have to daisychain adaptors.

Second issue.
I just heard that Quick Time 7 Pro for recording video-IN on a Mac may not work on 64 bit new MacBook Pro and newest OS?

Seriously?

Help,
Thank you
