I just bought a macbook pro, and I don't mind if santa rosa comes. I just have the HORRIBLE display brightness-change-triggered noise that annoys me a lot.

Amazon is obviously clearing stock for new arrivals. Of course they know when something is coming down the pipes, they're one of Apple's largest resellers. Even the smaller chains notice fluctuation in ordering when a new revision is soon.

And of course a new MBP is coming, look how longs its been since the last revision, its just a question of it being any Tuesday or Wednesday between now and WWDC.

Don't be surprised if SR MBPs come before WWDC. This is not exactly a "one more thing" announcement.

WWDC is going to have some absolutely awesome Leopard announcements and a some fresh tidbits on the iPhone. Santa Rosa just isn't that exciting, and Steve has already announced the LED screens. I expect MBPs with Santa Rosa this month, and maybe even an announcement by WWDC of C2D Minis, thereby making the entire line of Macs 64-bit, something much more significant than SR's release.

Anyway, you can grade me in June on my predictions.

True in the first half, although the impressive thing might be battery time - a result of Santa Rosa and LEDs. I don't know that Minis will be announced, Apple don't seem that interested in them since Apple TV. I could imagine them being repackaged into Apple TV Pros though and not changing except in terms of software - DVD import, etc.

Apple, Please use good quality LED backlight LCDs

why does Apple use the lcd panels of MBP from Thaipei instead of samsung or LGPhilips?

Currently, it feels like Apple has lost interest in all things Mac. They are more interested in the embedded stuff like :apple:TV and iPhone even to the point of pushing off Leopard to concentrate on the iPhone. :(

I consider it a lull, especially considering that they intently focused on Macs last year, upgrading their whole line and offering Intel CPUs...that hardly seems like a loss of interest to me. The fact that new Macbook Pros are coming enhances my thoughts.

there is already a thread about this here. And I will quote my post from thet thread.
and before anybody comes saying how it means new Macbook Pro's next Tuesday, Amazon knows nothing about Apple's future plans, this is just a good deal that they have going right now.

I was REALLY bummed when they pushed out the Leopard release just to get the iPhone out...

Leopard would be cool, but come on. Tiger is awesome and it's not like I don't enjoy my daily experience on the Mac because of the OS. And let us be honest here, even without the iPhone Leopard was going to be delayed. Delaying something by half a year is the result of more than one issue (*cough*Vista*cough*)

After summer, with AppleTV, a new iPod refresh and iPhone out of the way, I fully expect 2008 to be a great year for the MB and MBP.
