I just purchased a new white macbook. I used the computer for two days and noticed many scratches on the case and more importantly on the glossy screen. I only noticed them in sunlight. Anyone else experience this? Should I return the computer or are glossy screens expected to have these scratches when viewed in sun at certain angles?

Thanks for the help.
Andy

Thanks. I opurchased from Amazon and I feel like I should have just went through Apple as the slight savings is not worth the hassle right about now especially since I loaded everything into the computer, but I do not like the scratches.

Love the computer though!

Well I called Amazon and here we go. They said go through Apple. I called Apple and they said go through Amazon. Gotta love the service from both companies. Anyway, I am not sure if Amazon will replace so the best I may do is return and get hit with the 15% restocking fee. Not ideal, but I am not keeping a computer with a 2 inch scratch in the middle of the screen for $1,100.

Any ideas? Anyone deal with these service issues before?

Mmm, fine scratches, maybe in a circular pattern, that you can only see in glare light (grazing incidence sunlight -- when the light appears "white")? I'm not quite sure you're not seeing something that's completely normal with these types of materials... i.e. polish grind marks.

The screen is defnitely sratched in 2 different places and they arent what I would call swirl marks (similar to the ones of my 330i which make me crazy as well).

It looks like something hit touched the screen. If this is normal then I do not need a mac as the scratch is right in the middle of the screen.

Thanks guys. Now I get to deal with Amazon saying it is Apple's problem and then Apple saying it is Amazon's problem. What a hassle...

Damn because my 3 series has swirl marks...

According to Amazon I would have to pay a restocking fee. I am waiting to hear back from them as I emailed customer service and I am NOT paying a restocking fee under any circumstance.
