I'm not making this call or vouching for the authenticity of the information, but I am in the middle of purchasing a large apple order and heard from my salesman that I should keep an eye out tomorrow when we were on the subject of MacBooks.

Just passing this on, in hopes that I'm pleasantly suprised tomorrow.

if it has to be tomorrow, i'll totally believe new macbooks over new ipods. macbooks and other updates could pop up without some snazzy press event, but ipods can't. it would make sense that new macbooks would be introduced with the greener apple press release last week. still, though, i would think imac updates would come before macbook/macbook pro updates.

I'll believe it when I see it - I don't think we are gonna see much until WWDC.

First MacBooks then iMacs

For Apple the MacBooks represent more than 60% of their sales updating first the MacBooks for me it would be very logical with that number...and if is tomorrow I will order one as fastest as I can..

Tomorrow is the first day any detailed public announcements from Apple would be permitted, since May 9th is when Intel will officially announce release of the Santa Rosa platform. Undoubtedly, there will be numerous laptop manufacturers issuing press releases and providing information regarding their new Santa Rosa based laptops beginning tomorrow morning and throughout the day.

It would be nice to hear or see something from Apple. Intel is rumored to have some additional news (other than Santa Rosa) it will mention tomorrow.

I'd guess the sales person asked you to wait based on Intel's release, and not an Apple tip...just my guess.

I just got word from several resellers that they cannot order MacBooks as they are out of stock from Tech Data and Ingram. This usually means an update is very near.

At Fry's Electronics, Macbooks where discounted $45 yesterday, and $75 today.

I am new to the forums, and I am thinking of getting a Macbook or Macbook Pro within the next couple months... i am pretty sure its worth waiting!
