I'm getting the black macbook in less then a month! I was wondering if they are going to update the macbooks? If they do then i'll wait! Just wondering. yes or no?

You never know with Apple, they're really secretive about product announcements. Probably not in the next month is the simplest answer.

It is very unlikely that anything will happen until late in the year. Even on that note, many people are expecting updates around MWSF '08. The current rev is really good, so now is a great time to buy. But if you really want the update, wait for it.

i would advise you to wait until they are shipped with leopard and ilife 07 pre-installed. ive had mine for about 2 weeks and im beggining to wish i would've waited. or if you dont care about spending 120 for the new OS and how ever much ilife is then you could buy now.

Yeah, I'm wondering about waiting myself....

I'm not waiting. I can't wait much longer. I'm getting it in about 3 weeks! Then I'll install leopard when it comes out! I can't wait!

I'm not sure if you know but you can get a discount on Leapard if your a student. Looks like somewhere to the tune of $49.00 (based on education cost of Tiger), or atmost $79 im guessing, so it isn't too bad.

I would never wait just for an operating system to get hardware.

At least not from Apple. We all know what happens when you buy a Windows computer before a new OS comes out...

You make the mistake of buying the OS, installing it, losing your files and finding that none of your applications you used to like actually work anymore?

Something like that... plus the fact that Vista doesn't really run that well on systems that came out before it without upgrades.

Yeah I thought about it I'm just gonna buy it in 2 weeks. Which I thought I would do in the begining.

i bought my macbook around a week after they updated it, and will install ilife 07 if its worth it (does anybody know how much it is, or how easy to install it is if you already have ilife 06?) and will also get leopard on 10.5.1 if i can hold the wait in. Any heres a noob question, when they say a student discount is that like college or highscool or what.

we're still about 3 months away from all that though, so if you need..or really want...it sooner, buy it now
