I saw a screen shot somewhere (Can't recall where, but I assume it was on Cydia) that showed a little mail envelope in the upper right hand corner next to he battery meter - Does anyone know what app puts this there??

Seems like it would be a nifty thing to have instead of having to always go back to the home screen to check mail status.

It was a program called Taskbar Notifier in 1.1.4...not sure if it's been ported to 2.0 yet.

Cool.. thanks.. I'm downloading Intelliscreen now, but i think that'll be overkill for me (and not worth the $20.00 it would cost for multiple email accounts)... Taskbar Notifier looks like it would be idea, I just have to wait for it to be ported to 2.0.x (the developers website says he's working on it, so hopefully soon!)

Intelliscreen

I might go to the mobile apps;) and search intellescreen:cool:

mine does too

same as above, I thought the iphone already did this after the 2.0 pwnage
I don't know how I got it to do that...

not sure if this is the same
but
i installed something when i was using 1.1.4, that let me toggle the battery between battery graphic and battery percentage. i also changed the operator to my name. now, after installing 2.0.1, these things are still there. i think it gets there through iTunes' backup

so maybe you installed something that let you show a mail notification on the taskbar back when you were using 1.1.4, and now it shows up in your 2.0.1 firmware through iTunes' backup

Taskbar Notifier is the app that does SMS/Mail/VM but the dude who made it hasnt touched the code. Claims hes porting it but wont release code in Google even though Google is for open source code projects.

Maybe it doesn't work yet. Do you want a real time trunk or something? 100% up to date code that probably doesn't even build?

Just wait a while, if he says he's porting it, he's probably porting it.

But somebody like me who could poke around enough to get it to build? I would like to see some direction and maybe could get it up and running. Who knows...

Any headway in this area? I'm sick of having to unlock to see if I have any new mail messages. Every other notification pops up, even when I have a new UPS shipment sitting at my door. Come on somebody work this out already, please!!
