In this wrecking video it clearly shows that the headband could " easily" be replaced by Apple

How hard would it have been to skip the adhesive on the ear cup base and put some warranty stickers on them. And let users in with the understanding it voids the warranty.

The adhesive is probably to prevent resonance of that part, instead of making it harder to get into.
Ifixit will probably make a replacement adhesive :)

Is removal of the plastic cover over the driver necessary in the first place to remove the headband ? I notice that there is a little hole at the top of the plastic cover for the driver that seems to coincide with where the mechanism for removing the headband is located. Can a sharp object like a SIM card tray tool be used to press on that mechanism through the hole ?

If removing the headband is so easy as pressing such a tool through the hole, I’d really like to know how much Apple would charge for replacing a headband which mesh got damaged.

As a side note, that headband pivot mechanism is incredible in so many ways.

Lets hope somebody is willing to try that :)

[edit]
it seems there is a little cover over the hole on the back side, if that is rubber that can be poked through, it might be a sign for Apple, that it was tampered with.

Or perhaps a super soft and flexible rubber to ensure that there is no sound leakage in that part of the cup ?
Maybe I’ll directly contact Apple to see if they can give us a quote for the headband replacement. Crossing fingers it’s low if they can replace it without opening the earcups.

Wow I am impressed by the connection to the headband. It looks like a smaller version of a lightning connector. Really amazing engineering on that part lol
