New MB here- question about RAM

The 2.0 GHz MB comes with 1 GB of RAM standard. Is that 1, 1GB stick or 2 512MB sticks? Just want to know because I want 2GB in it and want to know whether I need to order 1 1GB stick or 2 from a third party.
