New MBA 11 is 7 months old?!?

I dont understand how, but my new MBA 11 that I bought about 2 months ago shows that it is 27 weeks old in the coconut battery program!! 27 WEEKS? Almost 7 months!?! That puts it at being built mid-July 2010, when this model wasnt even released until October! What gives? Is there any other way to check the age of my mac, in case coconut battery is inaccurate?

Note: its not custom BTO, its the 1.4ghz, 2gb RAM, and 128gb SSD, bought from amazon.

Its possible that it was sitting in an Amazon warehouse waiting to be bought. Apple did start make those long before they where released. That's why they can be be sold that day or the following day.

I guess.. I dunno, mid-July just seems a little too early though, unless maybe its one of the first ones to be built... How old are others' 2010 MBAs?

Mine says 3 weeks old. It was shipped around 4 weeks ago and it arrived 3 weeks ago. So unless it was built by the post office, ignore the figures.....

It seems this is not "in case coconut battery is inaccurate", this program is obviously and proven wrong. Since what it says cannot possibly be correct, you cannot trust it at all.

It doesn't make more sense at all. It is just plain wrong.

Apple recently changed their serial number coding, so old serial-number-checking websites/apps are incompatible with the new system at the moment

Yep, its a glitch. I brought my MBA 11 the first day they were on sale to the public and coconut battery said it was 13 weeks old out of the box. Somehow, I doubt that was accurate.

Of course, it doesn't really matter except as a matter of curiosity.

No, there is nothing that tracks battery age. It's supposed to be the age of the Mac, from the time it was manufactured, not purchased. CoconutBattery is frequently inaccurate in its reporting of the age of Macs.

Mine says 13 Weeks and I purchased it in Late november.

I got mine first week in November. I guess I probably ended up with an MBA from the first batches they made. Not that it really matters to me, its really just out of curiosity..

Mine says 1 week but it was shipped to me 16 days ago. So like others have said, Coconut seems to be flawed in this case.
