I haven't ordered a Mac since 2006. I forgot how exciting it was :D!

So TNT are on their way to my cosy little Australian home, bringing me;
MacBook Air 13" 1.86GHz/2GB/128GB SSD
MobileMe 1 Year Subscription
iWork '09 Family Pack
Apple 45W Magsafe Power Adapter for Air
Apple USB Ethernet Adapter
Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter
Mini Display Port to DVI Adapter
iPod Nano 8GB (4th Gen Green)
Speck See-Thru MacBook Air Clear Shell
STM Cargo Small Laptop Bag.

It's like christmas again!

So my questions to you, MBA Forum-ers is...

How did you get your air?
Did you order it separately, and get all your bits and bobs later? Did you wait and buy everything together?
What accessories did you buy, and what did you decide against? Why?
What are the staple accessories that everyone has?

OOOOH. congratulations. I know how exciting this can be. I got my rev b 1.8/SSD only 2 weeks ago. You will love it.

Let's see. Because I had the rev a, I knew that there were certain things that I would need immediately:

Trackpad Cover film (the trackpad gets oily pretty fast, and that really ages your machine)

Screen protector (I have a static cling film on the screen, but the I like the cloth ones that you use when you put the machine away too.)

Invisible Shield for at least the bottom of the AIR. It REALLY does protect from scratches.

A case or sleeve (I have the incase carrying case, but I also have/use SEVERAL others--I kinda went crazy over these)

Those things I knew I needed right away, and bought them along with my AIR at the time. But looking at your list, you have already spent quite a bit.

Enjoy!!

Cool! I have never even gotten to use any SSD model. Have a new 1.6/120 replacement under warranty for my original 1.6/80. Put the clear Speck case on it the day the Apple Store gave me the new one a couple of weeks ago. I was just so excited to get a new Air and felt I should protect it. Never owned a case on the original, just a sleeve. Not sure I like the thickness of the case, but I sort of feel obligated to use it since it was $50.

Never had any "oily" issues on the trackpad.

Not worried about the lines and flickering issues?

Not at all. Upgrading from a Rev. A MBP Which had processor whine and flickering issues. So i'm used to flickering. :D

From the research I did into the air before buying, The lines don't look too bad to me (personal opinion, I'm not trying to upset anyone else here), however If I find that they are a problem, it's a simple fix. I'll return it and get another. I have habit of getting DOA machines, and not just from Apple. :D
