Yeah... that may be a direction it's slowly headed towards, but driven by Apple's need to get disentangled from the chip wars, Intel vs. Nvidia, lack of sourcing for small enough better chips, needed licenses that other parties can withhold, etc. ----- My theory is that Apple's tilting that recently-disclosed pie chart of $ towards the iPhone O/S products, partly for the PRACTICAL reason that they can do the design work better, if they have less snags from others. Suggesting: Yes, build upwards from the phone's O/S. Perhaps the 'Air' splits into 2 versions: The more basic iPhone O/S version, PLUS the more expensive ever-advancing Mac-based version (maybe just a bit heavier and thicker, if that's what it takes to have enough battery, 2 USB's, etc.)
