I'm in the market for a new laptop and I think I'm going to grab a MBA

I've had a LapZilla 17" since it came out and I LOVE IT

However, my work has changed drastically --- I use to edit videos and music tracks all the time, but now, I'm writing screenplays and docs all the time, no editing at all

I'll miss the big screen, but I think I need to lose the weight, as I'm constantly on the road

Anyways - I'm going to check these out at the store tomorrow..... if I dig it, I think I'll cave in

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

Yeah go try them out. You'll be surprised by it's speediness!
You can buy a display if you want and hook it up to increase your viewability.
Good luck!

Agreed, always try them out before your purchase. You don't always have that option with other manufacturers.

OT, why does that long message come up saying "Wirelessly Posted"...dadadada... followed by your post? Does it do that with every iPhone? It doesn't show that when I post with my iPod Touch.

If you will only be writing screenplays from here on out, then you should be very happy with the MBA.

However, be sure you won't be getting back into video-editing in the near future.

okay!

Got my MBA today at the Cherry Creek store in Denver - 1.86 ghz and SSD

I'm gonna start loading apps and files

I played with the MBA models for about an hour today just to make sure it was the right choice --- they had a 1.6 and a 1.86 and HUGE differences between the two

The 1.86 is clearly snappier and much less lag --- the 1.86 also seemed to have a brighter and crisper screen

I will say, I'll miss Firewire 400 --- I really think Apple should've thrown this on

Nonetheless - I'm very excited - more review to follow tomorrow

Well I've had mine since Tuesday and I have to say it blows away my 1st Generation MBA (1.8ghz 64GB SSD). I watched more than 2 hours of HD Video on it yesterday the CPU temp never climbed above 60º Celsius. I watched the Sunday Night Football game on it tonight and the temp stayed below 80º the whole game. I have the 1.86ghz 128GB SSD model, absolutely love it.

I doubt they could fit the FW in the air in its current form without sacrificing overall thickness.

Very impressed so far with it.

I just ordered one also. Should have it tomorrow. It will be a big change. I'm currently using a 17" Dell laptop and a Dell desktop with 3 monitors.
