I recently purchased a first gen macbook air for a good price on craigslist and I am very happy with it! I bought it for my trips to the coffee shop and daytrips to nyc and so far it's worked great.

I have experienced some hiccups watching divx files in VLC but nothing horrible. I don't miss the lack of a superdrive and haven't had a need for one although it'd probably be a wise purchase down the line.

Anyway, I think it's been a great compliment to my desktop pcs and my mac mini.

I'm glad you like it!
Enjoy! :)

Although I rarely use it, the Superdrive is nice to have for those moments when you need it. Such as when you want to do a clean install of OS X. But I suppose the DVD drive you had laying around works too. :)
