I wondered if the upgrade I had chosen to go for the 1.7Ghz i5 13" MBA would be worth it over my current MBP, finally found a 32bit GeekBench to compare to, and WOW. All I need is a GPU benchmark now, I'm not expecting the MBA to be better than the 8600MGT in my MBP but would be interesting to see.

Anyway, link to see my old system and a MBA. Specs for mine are in the sig.

Well I don't wanna pay for the 64bit so found a 32bit to compare to mine, that should be a fair test no?

Interesting, thanks. I'm hoping to go from my late 2008 MBP (yours is early 2008) to the new 13" i5 Air.

Mine is similar to yours. 2.66 GHz, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB.

If it feels anything like this MBP, I'll be more than happy.

Really, just download GeekBench and run the 32bit test.

Also, your MBP is more powerful in pretty much every way, especially the GPU.

Hmm, I think I'm going to have a play with it at the Apple Store before I make any snappy decisions.

Yeah GeekBench never compares to real world experiences, but when the scores over 2000 higher I had to go for it! :p
