Coconut was useless, it barely recognized the batt. I had to manually input the size. It had no idea how old it was either.

I must say though, I just got this yesterday and straight out of the box the battery lasted 8+ hours with word processing and safari open with 3-5 the whole time.

Impressed.

How did you find out what's its size?

Where's yours OP?

It's on its way... ;-)

Thank you all guys...I did not even know Coconut 2.7 was out, finally fixing the "age of your Mac" (new Mac serial scheme) bug.

11" MBA

Total capacity 4680
Current capacity 4662 (out of the box was 4387)

Running two full discharges/recharges per Apple's "battery conditioning" and it's nearly up to full spec.

I am trying to figure out why some people on here show a higher number than what my 13" MBP shows?? I thought that the 13" MBP had a bigger battery?

It definetely has not.

Coconut reports 5700-5900 for my MacBook Pro '10. Designed capacity is 5770 if I remember correctly.

That's what my '10 shows as well. I get between 8 and 10 hours under light usage, w/ SSD, click to flash, etc...

Curious.... the 13" MBA shows a 50-watt-hour battery and the 13" MBP shows a 63-watt-hour battery in the apple online technical specs. Yet system profiler and coconut battery show the MBA much larger. Yet, it's showing on average 20% larger in the mAh.

MBA 11" 1.6/4/128 too but despite 2 complete discharges/recharges, I can't seem to go beyond 4590 mAh (98% health). :(
I guess that's just 5 minutes less in the 5-hour battery, but that's still a little irritating... :D

Still hope the battery health goes better with time (I experienced that with my iPhone 4), although I don't think that's likely with a macbook battery... ;)

Why coconut instead of system profiler???

Sorry to get off track here, but why do so many people install this coconut battery application when the exact information can be found in system profiler via Apple's OS X without installing any other crapware?

I just don't get any advantage of installing coconut crapware... am I missing something?

System profiler shows charge information, battery specs, cycles (probably more accurate too), battery health, and etc.
