Anyone else have a gap between the screen and body like this?

I just checked my 14" and I do not have that gap either. I have had brand new Macs arrive with slight defects in the past, so I feel your pain... My local Apple Store has a few nicely spec'd configurations of the 14" in stock, so maybe you can setup an exchange at your Apple Store.

You’re way better off returning and purchase a new one or exchange while in that window period. Don’t wait like what was suggested. If you try later down the road within warranty you will have to go through many hoops since it’s cosmetic. Also Apple will not replace the entire Mac. If anything it would be screen/enclosure.

Wow, it almost looks like the gasket is missing that wraps around the entire screen and separates the glass from the aluminum. Do you see the gasket anywhere else on the screen?

Either way, like others have said, return it and get a new one!

Yep, the rubber gasket is there around the screen.

I have something similar but not as bad - seeing this makes me not want to even risk exchanging for it might be a worse one.

A thin piece of paper actually took care of this for me. Spot removed.

Just checked my 16" MBP M1... I defintitely do not have a gap like this. However, I did just get my screen replaced (other issue).
