If not already covered here, the New MBP will take the old Transcend JetDrive Lite cards. They work fine and are nearly flush. The Niftydrive however, does not work. Not deep enough to hit contacts.

So if you have some old Jetdrives lying about (I have two 128GB cards from my 2015 MBP), you can put them back to work.

So you are saying the Transcend JetDrive Lite 360 series is compatible with both the 14 and 16 inch M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pros? What exactly is "nearly flush"?

There is an edge on the Jetdrive Lite. If you run your finger along the side you will feel it. But it does not protrude to the point it would be damaged. It is the 360.

I know this thread is older, but there are no issues with the NiftyMiniDrive working in the new MBP - at least in my 14" model.

I have the Nifty model for the 15" Retina MBP. It protrudes from the 14" body (I posted this back in late October when I got my 14") but it works just fine.

I've read the 13" Nifty drive fits perfectly in the 14" MBP. Not sure if the slots on the 14/16 models are different like they were in the 13/15 models. It may be my 15" Nifty drive would fit properly in the 16" model - haven't had a chance to try.

What is your experience that suggests the NiftyMiniDrive doesn't make contact in the new MBP?
